Who We Are
Growing up in Southeast San Diego, I experienced barriers to accessing quality mental healthcare. My low-income high school had 1700 students, but only 1 psychologist.
After being sexually assaulted, I told my story unapologetically to other girls in my neighborhood. To my surprise, many girls had the same experience. We shared tears. We shared valleys and peaks. We healed together. It was their stories, their support, their genuine and radiant love that inspired CultureCare (Previously Harmony's Room). Sisterhood is what taught me the power of unity. From this, I found a deep passion for supporting BIPOC youth.
As a high school senior, I launched Harmony's Room, a digital mental health platform connecting high school students to San-Diego based mental health partners and co-created socioemotional awareness curriculum.
In 2022, I lost my childhood bestfriend to Lupus, an autoimmune disorder. She was a healthcare worker, a dialysis technician. This earth-shattering loss inspired me to expand CultureCare into a multisided platform that helps and empowers BIPOC healthcare practitioners. BIPOC mental health professionals deserve the same access to support, resources, and community.
